Report: Andrade El Idolo & Sammy Guevara Said They Wouldn't Fight Before AEW Dynamite

More on the backstage fight between Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo too

There is chaos within All Elite Wrestling again following a backstage fight between Andrade El Idolo and Sammy Guevara at Wednesday night's taping of Dynamite in Washington, DC.

Heat between the two talents bubbled over during the week and reports have noted that Guevara pushed Andrade and El Idolo threw a punch. Andrade was then sent home, while Guevara worked the Dynamite main event, teaming with Chris Jericho against Bryan Danielson and Daniel Garcia.

Issues between Guevara and Andrade El Idolo became public this week after Andrade revealed that the three-time TNT Champion complained he hit him too hard during one of their matches. A back and forth on Twitter then followed which ended with Andrade telling Guevara he would see him on Wednesday.

According to Dave Meltzer, Guevara and Andrade were spoken to by AEW on Tuesday and they both said there wouldn't be any fighting at Dynamite.

"Tuesday night, they were talked to. Both of them. They were told no fighting and Andrade was told you're not going to get fired if you fight but you will be sent home. Andrade said, 'Don’t worry. Nothing is going to happen. There's going to be no fighting.' Sammy was the same thing, nothing is gonna happen. They had security there, everybody was warned ahead of time," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer then noted that a source he trusts completely told him Andrade was waiting in the hallway and "got two punches in." Guevara did not fight back and the altercation was broken up right away.
