Report: AEW Turned Down Signing Bret Hart

AEW could have signed Bret Hart as a road agent, but apparently turned him down.

Following a Fightful Select report that AEW star Orange Cassidy is also working behind the scenes as a road agent, wrestling writer Brian R. Solomon took to Twitter to give his view on the situation, claiming in the process that AEW turned down bringing in Bret Hart.

His post reads: "I'm actually a big fan of Orange Cassidy and his work. But in a company that has Arn Anderson, Jake Roberts, Tazz, Billy Gunn, Christian Cage, Chris Jericho, Dustin Rhodes and Sting in the locker room, shouldn't they be the ones being tapped to be road agents? When I recently interviewed Bret Hart for my book, he told me that he offered to agent for them, but they only wanted to bring him in as a manager like Tully, Arn, Jake, etc.. Imagine having the ability to have Bret Hart coach your talent [but instead] saying no just be a TV character."

Bret famously appeared at AEW's inaugural pay-per-view, Double or Nothing 2019, where he unveiled the AEW World Championship title belt. However, his most recent appearance in wrestling was at last year's WWE Clash at the Castle pay-per-view in Cardiff, Wales.
