Report: AEW Wrestler Undergoing Character Change

A babyface turn might be incoming for a certain AEW wrestler

SPOILERS for AEW Collision are contained in this report

It hasn’t been too long since Kris Statlander turned heel, aligning with Stokely Hathaway and turning her back on former friend Willow Nightingale at Double Or Nothing 2024, leading to a memorable feud which culminated at All Out 2024. A new report has suggested that she is already getting a change in her character, with AEW opting for a different creative direction.

During AEW’s taping of Collision, which will air later tonight, Kris Statlander faced off with TBS Champion Mercedes Moné in a segment which indicated that she would be turning babyface once again. Per Fightful Select, an inquiry into this change for Statlander led to the revelation that Statlander’s alliance with manager Stokely Hathaway has come to an end. This seems to perhaps be confirmed even more so by the fact that Hathaway was seen scouting talent during Private Party’s match on Dynamite.

Despite defeating Willow Nightingale at All Out, Statlander looks poised for a TBS Title match whilst Nightingale has entered the AEW Women’s World Championship scene, recently targeting the champion Mariah May.
