Report: Aleister Black Recently Requested Move To NXT

Report cites "Frustration from both sides"...

On Friday night, WWE announced the release of Zelina Vega. The release was reportedly related to the recent company edict ordering talents to disassociate themselves from third party media platforms.

A report has since emerged concerning Vega's real-life husband Aleister Black, who was recently drafted to the SmackDown brand. According to WrestleVotes, Black requested a move back to NXT, a request that isn't known to be related to his wife's situation or release.

The tweet reads, "There’s a bit more behind the scenes to the Zelina Vega release. Frustration from both sides is an understatement. While it can’t be directly tied to today’s news, Aleister Black recently requested to move back to NXT and was denied. Dissension amongst the parties involved."

Black held NXT's top title back in 2018, defeating Andrade (who, coincidentally, was managed by Vega). He joined WWE's main roster in early 2019.

Though Black was recently drafted to SmackDown, he has not wrestled in over a month. His last match took place on Monday Night Raw on October 12, losing to Kevin Owens in a No Disqualification match.
