Report: Aleister Black Segment Pulled From WWE Smackdown

Vignettes featuring Black had appeared on the previous two Smackdowns

Last week's episode of Friday Night Smackdown had been due to air the latest Aleister Black vignette, but the segment reportedly had to be pulled due to time constraints.

Black had appeared on the previous two Smackdowns, presenting a new gimmick. Although not much is known about Black's new character, it appears to be cult leader-esque, with the 35-year-old telling scary, horrible stories from his youth from a big book.

The third instalment in Black's pre-recorded vignettes had been set to air on the most recent episode of Smackdown but, according to PWInsider, it had to be pulled at the last minute because earlier segments in the show had run over their allocated time.

WWE found themselves in a similar situation with Mia Yim on Smackdown too, with the former RETRIBUTION member reportedly prepared to make her debut on last week's show, only for the segment to be pulled.

It is likely that WWE will return to promoting Black's new character this coming week, as fans await the former NXT Champion's return to the ring. He last performed in October 2020 on Raw against Kevin Owens.
