Report: Andrade And Thea Trinidad Not Imminently Signing For AEW

Andrade was granted his WWE release on Sunday

The recent release of Andrade from his WWE contract has led to speculation that the former NXT Champion could link up with former manager Thea Trinidad (Zelina Vega).

The news that Andrade does not have a no-compete clause attached to his release means the 31-year-old could return to the ring at any time, and fans are clamouring to see him reunited with the ringside associate that helped to make his gimmick so successful in NXT and on the WWE main roster.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, however, we will not be seeing Andrade and Thea Trinidad reunited in All Elite Wrestling in the imminent future.

Meltzer's report says that Trinidad has signed a contract elsewhere, albeit not necessarily with another wrestling promotion, and while it is not known who her current employers are, the nature of the deal would not permit her to work with another wrestling company such as AEW.

It is noted that Trinidad's contract is a short-term deal and the door has not been shut on a move to AEW, but it will not be something that happens in the near future.

Andrade, for his part, trademarked the name 'La Sombra' months ago, in an indication that he was planning on returning to the name that he used in his native Mexico.

There is, of course, the possibility that Andrade could join AEW without Trinidad at his side.
