Nick Aldis and Bobby Roode were present for WWE’s most recent episode of SmackDown, with the two veteran talents believed to have worked backstage for the live show on August 11.

Per a report from Fightful Select, the two worked backstage in production, with Aldis shadowing Petey Williams, and Roode working with Jamie Noble. Williams produced AJ Styles vs. Karrion Kross, whilst Noble produced some backstage segments as well as the Rey Mysterio vs. Austin Theory US Title Match.

Aldis has long been linked with a role in WWE’s backstage set-up, with rumours that the former TNA World Champion was set to join the company swirling since the end of his short IMPACT return run in July.

Roode has been on the sidelines since June 2022, with the former NXT Champion undergoing neck fusion surgery last December. Roode is believed to have been working in WWE production since the beginning of August at the very least, with Roode working backstage for SummerSlam 2023, and subsequent editions of Raw and SmackDown.
