Report: Bobby Roode Working Backstage In WWE

Bobby Roode is staying busy in WWE during his time on the shelf.
It was noted over the weekend that Roode was in Detroit for the SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 5 and it has been reported by Fightful Select and PWInsider Elite that Roode is working behind the scenes as a producer. He wasn't listed on WWE's SummerSlam run sheets, with Fightful noting that Roode is likely shadowing another producer before he takes on the role full-time by himself. Roode was backstage at this week's Raw too.
The former NXT Champion remains listed on WWE's roster page but he has been out of action since June 2022 due to a serious neck injury. He initially underwent neck fusion surgery on his C5 and C6 vertebrae in November 2022 before he underwent fusion surgery again in May 2023. Roode is not expected to return to the squared circle until 2024.
Roode isn't the only former TNA World Heavyweight Champion working as a producer. Nick Aldis was reportedly backstage in the same role at Monday's episode of Raw and he is expected to be at a number of WWE TV tapings.
