Report: Backstage News On AEW's Firm Deletion

Backstage details on the Firm Deletion

Matt Hardy is set to host his latest cinematic match at the Hardy Compound later this week when the Firm Deletion airs on the Friday, May 5 edition of AEW Rampage.

The match will see Matt and Jeff Hardy team together for the first time in close to a year and they will be joined by Isiah Kassidy and HOOK to take on The Firm's Big Bill, Ethan Page, Lee Moriarty, and Stokely Hathaway to cap off a months-long storyline.

As is typical of Hardy's cinematic affairs, the match has been filmed ahead of Friday's Rampage. According to Fightful Select, the match was filmed on Thursday, April 27 and AEW Road Producer Giancarlo Dittamo helped film the action. What exactly happened in the Firm Deletion has not leaked but Matt Hardy has teased "surprise appearances" and a "bonkers" match.

The Firm Deletion will be Matt's third cinematic match in AEW. He was involved in the first Stadium Stampede at Double or Nothing 2020 as an honorary member of The Elite. He then defeated Sammy Guevara at the Hardy Compound at Full Gear in November of that year in The Elite Deletion.

Matt Hardy set the blueprint for cinematic matches in pro wrestling back in the summer of 2016 when he faced Jeff Hardy in the Final Deletion, while the brothers were a part of IMPACT Wrestling.
