Report: Backstage News On Eddie Kingston's Hernia Injury

Update on Eddie Kingston's hernia

A top star of Ring of Honor is set for a stint on the shelf after Eddie Kingston revealed last week that he has been wrestling with a hernia since September and he will 'most likely' need surgery to repair the issue. Kingston noted he aggravated the injury in his ROH World Title match at Supercard of Honor against Claudio Castagnoli.

In an update, PWInsider Elite confirmed Kingston's hernia is 100% legitimate and is not part of a storyline to write him off TV. Kingston initially believed he suffered a pulled groin and he revealed to PWInsider that he "downplayed" the issue to AEW's medical team because he came up in the business when the mentality was to work through and around your physical issues.

AEW Medical realised after Supercard of Honor that Kingston was dealing with a bigger issue and he was diagnosed with a hernia. The Mad King was apologetic about trying to work through the injury and he is trying to remember that he doesn't have to wrestle through his issues now that he is signed with All Elite Wrestling. It's ultimately hard for Kingston to forget something that was embedded into him after 20 years in the industry, however.

How long Kingston will be out of action for is unknown.
