Report: Backstage News On Eric Bischoff & Grayson Waller's WWE Raw Appearances

Not a last-minute decision

In a big surprise earlier this week, Eric Bischoff appeared on WWE TV for the first time since his Hall Of Fame induction as the officiant for the renewal of The Miz and Maryse's vows on Monday Night Raw.

As is typical with wrestling weddings or vow renewals, though, the ceremony didn't quite go as planned and Bischoff, Miz and Maryse all ended up drenched following a brood bath from Edge.

Bischoff wasn't the only surprise on Raw, though, as NXT Superstar Grayson Waller appeared on the show to continue his feud with AJ Styles as both men had a verbal exchange before The Phenomenal One defeated Apollo Crews.

While WWE have suffered from a COVID-19 outbreak which left several stars off the December 27 edition of Raw, Bischoff and Waller weren't brought in as last-minute additions to the show.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, plans to bring Bischoff back as an officiant were locked in on Thursday, December 23, while Waller's appearance on the red brand was finalised "around the same time", meaning neither was a last-minute decision.

Bischoff has since commented on his Raw appearance, writing: "Thank you for all of the great response from the appearance on Raw last night. @mikethemiz @MaryseMizanin and @EdgeRatedR are such great performers, that the hardest part for me was keeping a straight face. #LoveSeeingThatRedLightAgain."

Waller, meanwhile, continued his feud with Styles on Tuesday's NXT and the two-time WWE Champion announced he will be making an appearance at New Year's Evil next week.
