Report: Backstage News On Road Dogg's WWE Return
When did the D-O-Double G begin as VP of Live Events?
PWInsider have provided an update on the backstage return of Brian 'Road Dogg' James.
Mike Johnson noted (for those who had asked) that James commenced his duties as Vice President of Live Events a few weeks ago. He added that he believed James officially started back with the company in the last week of August.
Road Dogg was rehired last month, having been fired in January.
At the time of his release, he was working on the NXT brand at the WWE Performance Center, having previously been used in various capacities, including as a backstage producer and writer for SmackDown.
He was one of several 'Triple H guys' released while Paul Levesque was recovering from a cardiac event. His return came as Levesque gained more power behind the scenes, following the retirement of Vince McMahon.
WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett was previous Senior Vice President of Live Events, prior to the appointment of James. Double J had only taken on the role in early June, but was let go in August.
