Report: Backstage Reaction Ahead Of WWE Sale

Reports over the weekend claimed WWE were finalising a sale

Before WrestleMania 39 night two kicked off, reports emerged stating that the WWE were close to agreeing on a deal to be sold to Endeavor, the parent company of UFC.

Despite apparently ruling themselves out of the running to buy WWE in the last month, talks between Endeavor and WWE gathered significant pace, with the sale agreed on April 3.

Such news dominated the wrestling world on WrestleMania weekend of all weekends, and fresh reports have emerged revealing backstage reactions from within WWE ahead of the sale being officially announced.

Fightful Select stated that news of the deal was a major talking point backstage ahead of Mania night two, with talent reportedly not sure exactly what was going on, regardless of their position on the card. Fightful's report also stated that several talents were in touch to say they were ‘ecstatic’ that WWE wasn't being bought by a Saudi Arabia-led group, with the relationship between WWE and Saudi Arabia having been controversial since day one.

WrestlingNews.co reported that there are some in the company worried about potential releases due to the sale, with obvious restructuring and adjustments made whenever major corporate sales occur. It was also mentioned how the talent pay side of things could impact morale, due to UFC having major issues concerning fighter payouts.
