WWE WrestleMania 39 night two was a night to forget for Shane McMahon, with McMahon tearing his quadriceps moments into his grand return to the company during an ‘impromptu’ match with The Miz.

McMahon hit the mat clutching his leg during the opening exchanges of the exhibition, with Snoop Dogg having to finish the segment with a People’s Elbow to Miz. Fightful Select are reporting that all involved were praised for their handling of the unfortunate situation, with referee Jessicka Carr heavily credited for guiding the situation, audibly instructing Snoop Dogg on the spot.

As for McMahon, the report is stating that the former European Champion blew out his knee, with Triple H later confirming Shane had tore his quadriceps in an unfortunate parallel to Vince McMahon at Royal Rumble 2005. Shane was said to have been followed by a camera crew for a WWE documentary, with medical staff tending to McMahon in the aftermath of the injury.

This was McMahon’s first WWE appearance since his disastrous spell in the 2022 Royal Rumble, with McMahon’s reported self-booking drawing ire and causing conflict backstage last January.
