Report: Backstage Reaction To Cody Rhodes Vs. Seth Rollins At WWE Hell In A Cell Revealed

A widely-praised Hell In A Cell Match within WWE

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins' feud concluded at Sunday's Hell In A Cell pay-per-view/premium live event as The American Nightmare made it three in a row against the former Universal Champion, picking up the win following a second and third Crossroads before a sledgehammer shot.

The match appeared to be in jeopardy before the show, though, as it emerged that Rhodes had suffered a torn pectoral muscle, which WWE later confirmed had been torn completely off the bone. Despite this, Rhodes still performed inside the squared circle and he and Rollins put on a widely praised main event.

That praise extended to those within WWE and WrestleVotes reported those at the Gorilla position loved the bout and the match will be treated as an all-time classic moving forward.

"I've had multiple sources reach out this morning w/ exemplary words for the performance Cody Rhodes put in last night. Credit to Seth Rollins as well. Those at Gorilla were said to have LOVED the match. A modern day, all time classic HIAC that WWE will treat as much going forward," WrestleVotes tweeted.

Rhodes noted following the contest that it was his decision to wrestle on Sunday. The American Nightmare is now expected to be on the shelf for the next four to six months.
