Cody Rhodes Says It Was His Decision To Wrestle At Hell In A Cell 2022

Cody Rhodes put in a gutsy performance at Hell in a Cell 2022

Hell in a Cell 2022 will prove a significant chapter in the book of Cody Rhodes, as the ‘American Nightmare’ defeated nemesis Seth Rollins in the cell with a torn right pectoral muscle, with Rhodes right shoulder area horrifically bruised as a result.

Before the show, reports had circulated that Rhodes was indeed injured, with many expecting Rhodes to miss the match completely. However, after Hell in a Cell went off the air, a victorious Rhodes addressed the Chicago crowd:

"I'm sure I'm gonna explain things a little further tomorrow, I'll be very brief. No one convinced me, with a torn pec, to come out here. It was solely my decision. You would have to literally kill me from staying away from this ring. Ten times out of ten, I would have made the same decision," Rhodes said.

Rhodes continued, saying he didn’t want to let the paying fans down, before thanking them and declaring "We're going to finish this thing.”

It is believed Rhodes originally suffered a slight pectoral tear during a brawl with Rollins on the May 30 edition of RAW, with Rhodes completely tearing the muscle off the bone during a weight training session in the week.
