Report: Backstage Reaction To WWE Women's Tag Title Switch

The WWE Women’s Tag Titles changed hands on RAW

The July 17 edition of WWE RAW saw the team of Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville defeat Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan to win the WWE Women’s Tag Tag Championships.

The titles have seemingly become somewhat of a poisoned chalice in WWE, with the belts being hampered by bad booking, walkouts, injury, and quick reigns over the years.

Green and Rodriguez have become the fifth different team to hold the title sin 2023, but a report from Wrestlevotes suggests that WWE are optimistic about the team of Green and Deville, hoping the two can bring ‘stability’ to the chaotic division with a ‘substantial run’ with the straps.

17 different teams have held the titles in a little over four years, with only a handful of these teams being established duos with a gimmick or a featured storyline. WWE have seemingly taken steps to give the belts more meanings over the last few months, with former WWE Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler having a run with the gold, unifying the titles with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships during their reign.
