Report: Bandido's Broken Wrist Considered A Freak Injury

Bandido will be out of action for a while

One of All Elite Wrestling's popular talents will be out of action for a little while as Bandido revealed that he suffered a broken wrist during his match with Kononsuke Takeshita on last week's edition of Rampage.

In revealing the injury on his Facebook page, Bandido noted the initial diagnosis suggested he had suffered "a triangular fibrocartilage complex injury" and would need surgery as soon as possible, although he is set to get a second opinion today. The match between Bandido and Takeshita has been widely praised and there were no signs that the former ROH World Champion suffered a major injury in the match outside of the usual selling expected in pro wrestling.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has since noted that Bandido's broken wrist was considered a "freak injury" as he suffered the broken wrist by planting his hand to break his fall, something he will have done hundreds if not thousands of times while wrestling. Regardless of if he needs surgery or not, the broken wrist will keep Bandido out of action for a while, Meltzer noted.

After impressing in his debut match against Chris Jericho on the September 28, 2022 episode of Dynamite, Bandido signed with AEW a couple of months later. He had only just started appearing on AEW TV again in April after taking time off to deal with visa issues.
