Report: Bayley/Nikki Cross WWE Clash Of Champions Match In Question
Cross was not at SmackDown on Friday...
SmackDown Women's champion is scheduled to defend her title against Nikki Cross at tonight's Clash of Champions pay-per-view in Orlando. However, the status of that match appears to be unknown, following a recent report from Dave Meltzer.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio early Sunday morning, Meltzer said of Bayley/Cross during a match rundown with Bryan Alvarez, "We should put an asterisk. I don't know what's going on with that match. We'll see tomorrow. There's certainly rumors about Nikki Cross, who was not on television on Friday.
"And if she's there, she's there, and if she's not there, then she's not there. I asked this morning if she was going to be there, and nobody got back to me. There's your answer - nobody got back to me."
The lone acknowledgement of the Bayley/Cross match on this past Friday's SmackDown came during a Bayley monologue, where she made some mention of the title match, though Bayley's feud with Sasha Banks was the overriding theme of her promo. As noted, Cross did not appear on Friday's episode of SmackDown in any capacity.
