Fans shouldn't expect to see Becky Lynch on any professional wrestling programming for a little while.

Lynch will be a free agent on June 1 upon the expiry of her WWE contract and the two sides, despite holding talks, have yet to come to terms on a new deal. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Lynch will be taking an extended leave of absence from pro wrestling.

"Becky Lynch is taking an extended leave. From what I was told, it's not like a short period of time. She was looking for a long period of time out. If he's [Seth Rollins] not on the road, it makes sense for her not to be on the road. They can't be hurting for money or anything where they need it right now and maybe she's looking at other things and maybe she's not," Meltzer said.

The belief within WWE, according to reports, is that Lynch and the company will eventually come to terms on a new deal and she will return to the company at some point. Of course, one option for Lynch could be All Elite Wrestling but AEW President Tony Khan would not be drawn into discussing whether the promotion plan to make Lynch an offer, instead simply noting in a recent interview that she is a "great star."

June 1 will end Lynch's 11-year run with WWE. She is a seven-time women's champion on the main roster, having held the Women's World Title once, the SmackDown Women's Title four times, and the Raw Women's Title twice. Lynch has also had one reign as NXT Women's Champion and one reign as a WWE Women's Tag Team Champion with Lita.
