Report: Bobby Lashley, MVP Met With Vince McMahon Over Hurt Business Split

The group came apart on Monday's Raw

The Hurt Business disintegrated on this past week's edition of Monday Night Raw, as WWE champion Bobby Lashley and MVP kicked Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander out of the group.

Many fans and critics have questioned the move to split up the faction, as The Hurt Business was one of the more well-booked and popular acts on Raw in recent months.

According to Fightful Select, the decision to split the group came solely from Vince McMahon. The report also notes that Bobby Lashley and MVP met with McMahon over the move, but the WWE boss remained firm in his choice.

The report notes, in part, "It was added that McMahon, '...was set in his choice to fracture the group, even after MVP and Bobby Lashley were vocal about not being in support of the move.' They had a meeting with the WWE Chairman and CEO about the idea, but, '...the latter dug his heels in even more."

The decision to split the group is also said to be, "a blow to morale," per the report.

Lashley will wrestle Alexander on this Monday's episode of WWE Raw.
