Report: Bobby Lashley Was Told He'd Get Brock Lesnar Match In WWE

It's the match everyone wants to see

Since Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship on Raw a couple of weeks ago, the collective mind of the WWE Universe has turned to a potential dream match between the 'All Mighty' and Brock Lesnar.

It's a contest that even Lashley himself says he wants to happen before his time in WWE comes to an end.

It appears a match between the two may have been close to happening at one point, with Dave Meltzer reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio that Lashley was informed, upon his return to WWE in 2018, that a match with Lesnar would happen.

Lashley returned to WWE on the Raw after WrestleMania 34, at which Lesnar had successfully retained the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns. Reigns and Lashley would feud to become the number one contender to Lesnar's title a little later in the year but, while Lashley beat Reigns at Extreme Rules 2018, the Big Dog was declared the challenger at SummerSlam following a win over Lashley on Raw.

Lesnar is reportedly currently a free agent, after his contract with WWE expired last year, and recent reports suggest there is no chance of the former WWE Champion showing up at WrestleMania 37.
