Report: Brock Lesnar, Matt Riddle Have Verbal Altercation Backstage At WWE Royal Rumble

They meet at last...

Matt Riddle has spoken before about his desire to retire fellow mixed martial artist Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, and on Sunday, "The King of Bros" finally came face to face with the reigning WWE champion.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported Sunday evening that the two had a verbal altercation backstage at the Royal Rumble in Houston.

According to Satin's report, the two passed each other while walking backstage, and a "tense encounter" ensued. One witness to the reported confrontation claims that Lesnar saw Riddle and "...wanted him to know the reality of the situation between them."

The sources Satin spoke to indicated that the altercation was not at all staged. Additionally, the confrontation was not physical at any point.

Both men competed in Sunday night's men's Royal Rumble match. Lesnar, who opted to enter as number one in the story, eliminated the 13 entrants after him before getting sent out by Drew McIntyre.

Riddle entered at number 23 (after Lesnar had been eliminated), and was only briefly in the match before getting thrown out by King Corbin.
