WWE Confirms Super Showdown For February 27 In Saudi Arabia

Next trip of the series...

A video that aired during Sunday night's Royal Rumble pay-per-view confirmed the promotion's next event in Saudi Arabia.

Super Showdown is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, live on WWE Network. Announcer Tom Phillips confirmed that the event will take place in the Saudi city of Riyadh.

This will mark WWE's fifth event in Saudi Arabia as part of the ten-year deal to produce large-scale events in the country on a bi-annual basis. The first show was Greatest Royal Rumble, which occurred in April 2018.

Super Showdown will be WWE's first trip to Saudi Arabia since October, when the roster and crew were besieged with lengthy flight delays, following their Crown Jewel event in Riyadh.

This will be the third event in the Super Showdown chronology, following an October 2018 show in Melbourne, Australia, and a June 2019 card in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The SmackDown taking place the day after Super Showdown is booked for TD Garden in Boston, meaning WWE will likely try to get home to the eastern time zone in time to do the broadcast (as was attempted following Crown Jewel, with SmackDown emanating from Buffalo, NY). The Raw preceding the event is set to take place in Winnipeg.
