Report: AJ Styles Injured During WWE Royal Rumble Match

Severity unknown...

AJ Styles is reported to have suffered an arm injury during the course of the men's Royal Rumble match on Sunday night, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

Per the report, "The Phenomenal One" landed awkwardly on his left shoulder after taking a spear from the returning Edge, who entered the match at number 21, three spots after Styles came in at 18.

Styles then came up clearly favoring his left arm following the maneuver. Immediately after, Edge threw Styles out to eliminate him.

Prior to the elimination, an official climbed up onto the apron and clearly communicated with Edge, who then quickly eliminated Styles. Styles was then tended to by several officials and medical personnel, and Johnson reports that the 42-year-old had his arm examined upon reaching the backstage area.

Styles was later seen backstage with his arm wrapped up, and was icing it.

Styles will undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, and whether or not he will require any time off to recover.
