Report: Brock Lesnar Suffers Injury At WWE SummerSlam

Brock Lesnar reportedly hurt during WWE SummerSlam 2023 match

WWE SummerSlam 2023 saw Cody Rhodes defeat Brock Lesnar in singles action, ending their series 2-1 as Brock took his gloves off and raised Rhodes’ hand in victory.

After the event, many assumed Lesnar would be taking time off due to the symbolic gesture of removing one’s gloves after a match but subsequent reports stated the former WWE Champion would be back in WWE at some point in the future. A fresh report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shed some more light on Lesnar’s immediate future, revealing that Lesnar was injured during the SummerSlam bout, with a return not expected until 2024.

The report states that the plan now is for Lesnar to return in the lead-up to the 2024 Royal Rumble in January, and then onwards to WrestleMania. Meltzer did note that he could easily see Lesnar returning for WWE’s next Saudi Arabia show in early November whether he’s currently planned to or not, as Lesnar is always on hand for the big shows if WWE need him for a programme.
