Report: Brock Lesnar Won’t Be Back On WWE TV Any Time Soon

The Beast Incarnate is staying away for a little while longer…

After dropping the WWE Title to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 back in April, Brock Lesnar has been taking an extended leave of absence and isn’t likely to be returning to the WWE any time soon, especially not at SummerSlam on August 23.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter: “Lesnar is not scheduled for this year’s SummerSlam show. One of the reasons he put over McIntyre so strongly was because he was not coming back any time soon. Heyman has not been brought to television since he was let go as head of Raw creative. Most signs point to McIntyre vs. Orton as the SummerSlam main event.”

Lesnar’s extended absence is understandable considering his reputed high appearance fee, and with the ongoing Covid-19 situation preventing WWE from touring big arenas, they may be holding on until they can hit the road to bring back Lesnar and bring in huge gates.

But with Paul Heyman recently being relieved off his backstage duties on WWE Raw and absent from all WWE programming since, it’ll be interesting to see if this has any effect on Lesnar’s relationship with WWE.
