Report: Bryan Danielson Performing While Banged Up

Bryan Danielson believed to be performing hurt

Bryan Danielson is set to take on Kazuchika Okada at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II on June 25, in a match truly deserving of ‘dream match’ status.

Going into the PPV, Danielson has been ever present on AEW television as part of the Blackpool Combat Club vs. Elite war, but a report from Fightful Select suggests that ‘The American Dragon’ has been performing whilst ‘banged up’.

Indeed, although Danielson has been involved in some beat-down segments he has mainly been used on commentary for BCC matches in recent times, with Danielson having last wrestled during the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing on May 28.

The report suggests that Danielson went into Anarchy in the Arena hurt, and there were limited spots in the match involving Danielson as a result. Prior to Double or Nothing, Danielson last wrestled at AEW Revolution on March 5, in the critically lauded 60-minute Iron Man Match against AEW World Champion MJF.

Danielson has wrestled on nine occasions in 2023 thus far, with his first seven matches of the year coming between January and early February.
