Report Claims Saudi Government Told WWE To Remove Sami Zayn From Super ShowDown Due To His Ethnicity

Super Show-Down takes place this Friday...

Sami Zayn will not be travelling to Saudi Arabia with WWE later this week for the Super ShowDown event with numerous sources claiming this was a precautionary measure on the company's part.

Now, Dave Meltzer is reporting that Zayn is not going to appear on the card at the request of the Saudi Arabian government, who allegedly don't want the former NXT Champion on the show due to his ethnicity.

For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what Meltzer penned in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter: “For one, all along we were told the only men off the show were Bryan and Cena, who decided against going, and Zayn, who the Saudi Arabian government told WWE they didn’t want him on the show due to his ethnicity.”

Along with Daniel Bryan, John Cena and Sami, Kevin Owens (who reportedly refused to be a part of the event) and Aleister Black (reportedly due to some religious tattoos of his) also won't be appearing on Friday's Super ShowDown event.

You can watch WWE Super ShowDown this Friday from 7 pm BST.
