Report: CM Punk Angrily Confronted Tony Khan At AEW All In

CM Punk wasn't happy with Tony Khan at AEW All In

CM Punk was seemingly ready to fight everyone backstage at Sunday's All In pay-per-view from Wembley Stadium.

It previously emerged that Punk had a backstage altercation with Jack Perry ahead of his match with Samoa Joe which almost resulted in the opening contest of All In being delayed, with the trios match of The Golden Elite vs. Konosuke Takeshita & Bullet Club Gold ready to open the show in case of an emergency. Punk ultimately did go through with the match and he left Wembley Stadium at some point after the opening contest.

Before the altercation with Perry, though, CM Punk had a heated confrontation with Tony Khan, according to Wade Keller of PWTorch, which meant Punk was worked up before he even crossed paths with Perry.

Punk was reportedly upset about not being picked up at Heathrow Airport upon landing in London on Saturday morning, with Punk unaware that no one was picked up at the airport as opposed to him being singled out or forgotten about. This led to Punk confronting Tony Khan in front of others and then in his locker room backstage at All In in what was described as a heated and intense manner. Punk also reportedly told Khan he quit and chewed out the AEW President with "harsh phrasing."

Following Punk's match, there was an extended period of time where Tony Khan and CM Punk did not communicate with each other, which is considered unusual as they have at least texted each other after past backstage situations. There is no indication that Khan has directly communicated with Punk since the two-time AEW World Champion confronted his boss.

Punk and Jack Perry have since reportedly been suspended by AEW pending an investigation into their altercation. Haus of Wrestling has reported that Punk was informed of his suspension via his lawyer.

AEW wrestlers and personnel are openly speculating about whether or not Punk is looking to remove himself entirely from AEW at this point and if Tony Khan might be in the same place with their relationship.

At least until possibly All In, Tony Khan had been a fierce supporter of CM Punk within AEW to the point the AEW CEO loudly chanted for Punk as he walked by at the June 21 edition of Dynamite. This conduct left talent feeling that Khan would largely leave CM Punk's power unchecked and the situation would only get worse. Issues within AEW have indeed worsened.
