Report: CM Punk Approved Drew McIntyre's Photo With Jack Perry

Drew McIntyre’s photo with Jack Perry reportedly approved by CM Punk

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s feud went up another notch this week when McIntyre posted a photo of himself with AEW’s Jack Perry with the caption ‘cry me a river’.

McIntyre swiftly deleted the photo from his X/Twitter profile, but for the time it was up it was the talk of the wrestling world, whilst some assumed it was deleted as Punk himself must have been legitimately mad about it.

It seems as though that wasn’t the case, with WRKD Wrestling reporting that Punk and McIntyre are working closely together to put their angle together, and that any references to Punk’s past in WWE, or AEW will have been green-lit by Punk ahead of time.

"While Drew McIntyre deleted his photo with Jack Perry, there is zero concern of any backstage heat. McIntyre and CM Punk are working closely to craft their feud and all references to past AEW or backstage issues have been given the green light by Punk ahead of time," WRKD Wrestling tweeted.

Punk’s exit from AEW was facilitated after he got into a physical altercation with Perry backstage at All In Wembley Stadium in August 2023, with Punk returning to WWE at Survivor Series in November after being 'fired for cause' in September.

Whilst the photo might have been deleted from McIntyre’s social media, long-time Punk hater extraordinaire KENTA posted his own version on his Instagram story, inserting himself in the corner alongside Perry and Drew.
