Report: CM Punk's AEW Return "Tentatively Planned"

Is Punk on his way back?

After word broke Wednesday that CM Punk wanted to return to AEW, a new report on Fightful Select indicates that plans are in motion to bring the former two-time AEW champion back.

According to the report, the apparent working plan is for Punk to return to AEW at or around the June 21 Dynamite, which the company announced yesterday would take place at Chicago's Wintrust Arena.

Fightful's report adds that there have been pitches to announce Punk's return ahead of time, perhaps around the Warner upfronts.

The report does say, "... nothing is set in stone, and things can change as this is an often tumultuous situation."

Fightful also notes that there was a planned meeting between Punk and Chris Jericho, who have been at odds. Sources in AEW indicated that Punk was pushing for a meeting with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, but there's no word of any contact between the sides.

Punk has not been involved with AEW in over seven months, since he was suspended for his part in the post-All Out fight involving he, Omega, the Bucks, and Ace Steel. Punk was also sidelined with a torn triceps sustained on that pay-per-view.
