Cody Rhodes entered his main event match at the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view/premium live event with a nasty injury and it was announced ahead of the show that The American Nightmare had torn his pectoral muscle completely off the bone.

This left Rhodes with horrible bruising during his match with Seth Rollins but Cody decided to wrestle and he ultimately defeated Rollins after a second and third Crossroads followed by a sledgehammer shot.

In an update on Rhodes' injury, Fightful Select reported the former Intercontinental Champion is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair the torn pectoral muscle on Thursday. Rhodes is expected to be out of action for the next four to six months, which would be a similar timeframe to the likes of Triple H, Elias, and Hiromu Takahashi who all suffered the same injury.

Rhodes will address his WWE status on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw.
