Report: Current Plans For WWE WrestleMania 39 Main Events Revealed

What are WWE planning for WrestleMania 39?

WWE will reportedly have two world titles once again heading into WrestleMania 39.

The WWE and Universal titles were unified into the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 38 after Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar but the Tribal Chief won't have both titles for much longer. WrestlingNews.co have claimed that the WWE Title and Universal Championship will be defended separately at the Showcase of the Immortals with the idea being that Raw and SmackDown will have their own top title heading into the summer.

How WWE will separate the belts is unknown but WWE's plans for WrestleMania reportedly hinge on The Rock. The Hollywood star is not yet locked in for the Show of Shows and if he doesn't agree to appear, Cody Rhodes will face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in the main event of night two, while Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Title will main event night one. Should The Rock decide to work 'Mania, Cody will face Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship instead.

Rhodes is expected to make his WWE return from a torn pectoral muscle either before or at the Royal Rumble on January 28. The American Nightmare has made it known since he returned at WrestleMania 38 that he wants to win the WWE Title.

WrestleMania 39 will emanate from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on April 1 and April 2, 2023.
