Report: Day-To-Day Running Of WWE NXT To Remain Largely Unchanged

The more things change, the more they stay the same

The day-to-day running of NXT won't be changing "that drastically", according to a new report.

NXT was treated as WWE's third brand for much of the Wednesday Night Wars, but a revamp is scheduled for September 14 following the brand's move to Tuesday nights earlier this year. Going forward, NXT will very much be a developmental brand with an emphasis on larger and younger wrestlers and the "big decisions" will be made by Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard, as opposed to Triple H.

Despite being in charge of the revamped brand, McMahon and Prichard won't be involved in the minutiae of NXT and the day-to-day running of the brand will remain in the hands of Triple H, Shawn Michaels and others, according to WrestleVotes. The weekly show will come across as a Vince McMahon production, though.

"After talking to sources regarding NXT: the day to day operation isn't changing that drastically. Still very much in the hands of HHH, HBK, Regal, Bloom etc. However, the look of the weekly TV product will have a 'Vince & Co' stamp on it. I expect it to be subtle to start… then?" WrestleVotes tweeted.

Further changes could also be on the way as Dave Meltzer noted today that WWE are considering letting go wrestlers who have been with the black and gold brand for a "long time."
