AEW and DDT Pro recently announced that they were taking their working relationship to new heights, with DDT looking to grow their presence outside of Japan.

When the initial announcement was made in March 2022, it was claimed that DDT would regularly be sending stars over to work AEW events, and a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio has indicated that DDT’s Konosuke Takeshita will be one of the names.

Meltzer indicated that Takeshita will be a ‘full-time regular’ in AEW, with the DDT ace set to be a presence for ‘months and months’ whilst also still being an active member of the DDT Pro roster.

Takeshita is no stranger to AEW, wrestling several matches for the promotion in April 2021, including a loss against Death triangle and The Sydals when teaming with The Elite and Michael Nakazawa at AEW’s The House Always Wins live event.

Takeshita announced on Twitter in late March that he was coming to AEW, saying, “I have announced that I am going to the US next month to fight in @AEW. This is a big challenge. I'll make a dream come true,” with FTR’s Dax Harwood challenging him to a match.
