Report: Drew McIntyre Open To Exploring His Options If He & WWE Can't Agree To A New Deal

Drew McIntyre could be on his way out of WWE to explore other options

Amidst reports of Drew McIntyre being frustrated with WWE, there looks to be a potential chance of him walking away from WWE and exploring options elsewhere. Fightful Select have reported that if WWE and McIntyre fail to come to terms with a new contract, he could be on his way out the door.

“McIntyre’s WWE deal is up in early 2024, well before WrestleMania, and we’re told that he operated on the possibility that it could end up being his last WrestleMania. While it’s been reported that he’s leaning towards not staying with WWE, we’re told that it’s more accurate to say that he doesn’t know. If things aren’t working for both sides by the time his deal is up, McIntyre is willing to explore options elsewhere, and leave the door open to return to WWE in the future.”

It wouldn’t be the first time that McIntyre has left WWE, only to then return and come back stronger than ever. In 2014, McIntyre was released from WWE, before going on to become a major name in an array of other promotions and on the independent circuit, finding success in the likes of IMPACT Wrestling, ICW and Evolve. After main eventing WrestleMania and becoming a two-time WWE Champion in his second stint with the company, McIntyre would be considered one of the biggest exits of the last few years if he was to leave.
