Report: Former X-Division Champion Possibly Done With IMPACT Wrestling

A former X-Division Champion might be done with IMPACT

A former X-Division Champion looks to be finished with IMPACT Wrestling.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that IMPACT have cut Willie Mack's contract. The 35-year-old was on an annual deal with the promotion and he was set for a major raise in 2023 that would have seen him earn six figures.

To stop that raise from happening, though, IMPACT simply cut the contract.

Mack was in action at Saturday's Rebellion pay-per-view but if he will be used by the promotion moving forward on a per-appearance deal remains to be seen.

Mack has been with IMPACT since 2018 and found himself utilised as a mid-card talent. He was X-Division Champion in 2020 after defeating Ace Austin for the gold at Rebellion. He would hold the gold for approximately 100 days before dropping the belt to Chris Bey at Slammiversary.

Since then, Mack has primarily been aligned with Rich Swann as a tag team. At Rebellion they competed in the IMPACT World Tag Team Title Elimination Challenge that was won by reigning champions Violent By Design.
