Report: Frustration Over Booking Of WWE Title Defence

Frustration over a title defence within WWE

There is reportedly some frustration within WWE over a scheduled title defence.

The Kabuki Warriors have been WWE Women's Tag Team Champions since defeating Katana Chance and Kayden Carter on the January 26 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Asuka and Kairi Sane are in their second reign together with the gold, while Asuka has held the belt separately with both Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss in recent years.

Asuka and Kairi Sane defended the titles against Tatum Paxley and NXT Women's Champion Lyra Valkyria at the special Roadblock edition of NXT on March 5. The match ended with a win for the champions and Roxanne Perez ended up turning heel post-match, attacking Lyra Valkyria.

Fightful Select have noted that officials were "very happy" with having the Kabuki Warriors on WWE NXT. There was some frustration, however, with WWE booking the Kabuki Warriors in a title defence on the March 11 edition of Raw. Why there was frustration over the title defence is unknown.

Asuka and Kairi Sane will defend the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark on Monday's episode of Raw. The challengers are undefeated as a tag team in 2024.
