Report: How IMPACT Wrestling Was Affected By WWE NXT Moving To Tuesday Revealed
A tough night for IMPACT...
Sep 4, 2020
On this week's episode of NXT, Timothy Thatcher defeated Bronson Reed after interference from Austin Theory, Isaiah "Swerve" Scott pinned Santos Escobar to win a six-man tag team match which also involved Breezango, Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza, and Adam Cole, Finn Balor, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa faced off in a 60-minute Iron Man match for the NXT Championship.
Running unopposed has done wonders for the black and gold brand's ratings so far and Super Tuesday was another strong night as the show averaged 849,000 viewers and a 0.26 rating in the key 18-49 demographic.
WWE has held discussions in recent months with the USA Network about moving NXT to a different night permanently. This could spell bad news for IMPACT Wrestling, however.
This week's edition of IMPACT! had Eddie Edwards vs. Eric Young in the main event but Wade Keller of PWTorch reported the episode only averaged 101,000 viewers on AXS TV, down 40 percent from the week prior. IMPACT! had an average viewership of 155,000 over the past eight weeks.
