Report: IMPACT Wrestling Holds Internal Discussion About Recent Poor Ratings

The viewing figures for IMPACT Wrestling took a sharp fall last week

There has been a lot of discussion within IMPACT Wrestling about declining ratings, according to a new report.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com claimed the discussion was prompted by last week's episode of television dropping to a 60,000 overnight audience.

By contrast, for the month of August, IMPACT Wrestling's viewership averaged 131,000 viewers, including 39,000 in the crucial 18-49 demographic.

While last week's episode was facing stiff competition in the form of the new NFL season kickoff game between the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams, Johnson noted that numerous readers had complained that their local cable and satellite guides are listing new episodes of IMPACT as repeats.

The report confirmed that Comcast and the Dish Network had incorrect listings on their guides. It added that DirecTV and Verizon Fios also listed new episodes of IMPACT as August repeats.

It speculated that the error across multiple guides (which control DVR recordings) has to be biting into viewership and that the error could be on the part of AXS itself.

Naturally, this is something that those within IMPACT will not be happy about and seek to remedy moving forward.
