Report: IMPACT Wrestling's Eddie Edwards Undergoes Appendix Surgery

A stint on the sidelines for the former world champion

Eddie Edwards will be on the shelf for a little while.

It was reported earlier this week that the two-time IMPACT World Champion appeared to have appendicitis but the extent of the injury was unknown.

In an update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted Edwards did indeed have appendicitis and he underwent surgery on Monday, May 17.

There is no word on how long Edwards will be out of action, but he will be on the shelf for four to six weeks if he underwent open surgery.

Mr. AIP could pop up on IMPACT TV during his time in recovery, though. Fightful Select noted recently that IMPACT were holding a mammoth four days of tapings earlier this week which will see the company through to Slammiversary, so he may have taped some content for upcoming shows before he was sick.

Edwards has been one of IMPACT's top performers in recent years and he looked set for a renewed push following his and FinJuice's win over The Elite at Under Siege.
