Report: Keith Lee's AEW Deal Expiring 'Relatively Soon'
Keith Lee’s AEW deal reportedly expiring ‘relatively soon’
Keith Lee’s current All Elite Wrestling deal is set to expire ‘relatively soon’ according to reports.
The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has been out of action since December 2023 due to health issues, with Lee undergoing double surgery on an undisclosed injury in early 2024 after a singles bout with former partner Swerve Strickland was cancelled last minute heading into Worlds End in December of last year.
A report from Ibou of WrestlePurists suggests Lee’s deal is up ‘relatively soon’, although no details were revealed as to the length of Lee’s deal, how long is left on said deal, nor if AEW were planning to add on missed time from the ‘Limitless One’s absence.
Lee joined AEW in February 2022, but his run has been marred by absences and stop/start booking. The former PWG World Champion last wrestled on the December 23, 2023 edition of AEW Collision, defeating Brian Cage in singles action - just one of only 19 matches Lee wrestled all year.
The former NXT Champion stated in May 2024 that he was working to ‘get things handled’ during his absence, with Lee earlier stating he has been injured since Grand Slam II in September 2022.
Ibou of WrestlePurists stated that Malakai Black's deal is also up 'relatively soon', although Tony Khan noted back in 2022 that Black had five years left on his contract with the promotion.
