Report: Kevin Owens Pitched One Last Match To Shawn Michaels
Kevin Owens wanted a match with Shawn Michaels
Dec 15, 2022
Outside of a big payday at WWE Crown Jewel 2018 that earned him around $3 million, Shawn Michaels has been retired since his loss to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 in 2010. That didn't stop Kevin Owens from asking The Heartbreak Kid to come out of retirement, though, he revealed on Kevin Raphael's podcast.
The former Universal Champion revealed that while he was at the WWE Performance Center for his special NXT edition of the KO Show in October, Owens had a sit down with Michaels and asked him about having one last match with The Prizefighter. Owens pitched the match, noting that if it happened, he would have wrestled his two favourite wrestlers of all time in Stone Cold Steve Austin and Michaels.
Fightful Select reported that the 57-year-old told Owens he'd be lying if he hadn't thought about one more match, especially after he saw KO's clash with Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38. Michaels ultimately told Owens that he didn't think he should have one more match, however.
AJ Styles has previously tried to get Shawn Michaels to come out of retirement but the former WWF Champion turned him down.
