Report: LA Knight In Talks With WWE Over New Long-Term Deal
LA Knight could be set for a new long-term deal with WWE
The rise of LA Knight has been one of the talking points of 2023, with the former Million Dollar Champion becoming one of WWE’s most popular stars.
Reports earlier this week suggested that WWE view him as the top face on SmackDown, and fresh reports suggest that Knight and WWE are in talks over a new long-term deal.
Fightful Select have stated that WWE started making overtures to Knight about a new deal around the time of SummerSlam, and intend on offering Knight a new contract despite his current deal still having between one-to-two years left on it - an unusual move as WWE usually waits for contracts to be nearer to their expiry date before entering negotiations.
PWInsider Elite suggests that the new deal could be as long as five years, and is either close to being finalised, or indeed has been closed already. Reports further suggest that WWE were waiting for Knight to re-sign before enacting a major push for him, with many fans bemoaning his lack of high-profile activity at times this year, despite being wildly popular.
