Report: LA Knight Segment Pulled From WWE WrestleMania 39

LA Knight didn't get his WrestleMania moment

There was no room for LA Knight over two nights of WrestleMania 39, despite the show taking place in The City of Angels.

The former Eli Drake had said that "WrestleMania will get that LA Knight moment" in the run-up to the Show of Shows, but he didn't have a match or make an appearance on the weekend.

According to new reports, he was close to it.

The WRKD Wrestling Twitter account noted that LA Knight was supposed to have a segment with Bobby Lashley on night two, but they were unsure why it was changed.

Fightful Select later confirmed WRKD's report, adding that WWE had the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy escorted to SoFi stadium for the express purpose of using it during an entrance. In the end, battle royal winner Lashley simply came out and posed with the trophy on the stage.

Fightful were unable to confirm whether Vince McMahon had any influence in the decision to scrap the planned Knight/Lashley segment.

McMahon last year made the decision to remove Knight (then known as Max Dupri) from the Maximum Male Models group, following reports that he was rubbing some people backstage the wrong way.
