Report: Major AEW Blood & Guts Spot For Hangman Page Scrapped Due To Time Constraints

A 'big moment' for Hangman Page fell victim to timing issues in AEW Blood & Guts

The long-running feud between The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club came to an end on the July 19 edition of AEW Dynamite as both teams went to war inside Blood & Guts. The Golden Elite of Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Hangman Page, and Kota Ibushi would ultimately pick up the win over Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Konosuke Takeshita, and PAC. The non-BCC members abandoned their partners during the match and Jon Moxley would quit for his team after The Elite started choking Wheeler Yuta.

Sports Illustrated has provided behind-the-scenes details about Blood & Guts, revealing a loose finish for the match was planned but time quickly ran out when everyone was in the ring, with the performers doing a mad dash to the finish to ensure Dynamite went off the air in time. The original plan was for the match to end with 10 minutes of the show left so Dynamite could feature both factions shaking hands and Omega's post-match promo, but both moments instead took place just for the live audience after the show.

The timing issues also meant a "big moment" for Hangman Page was scrapped. What the spot for the AEW World Champion would have been is currently unknown, however.

SI noted that all 10 men in the match were emotional after they walked backstage with Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, Claudio Castagnoli, Hangman Page, and Jon Moxley all wanting to have that moment for so long. Both factions also enjoyed working together and Matt Jackson decided to mark the feud by having the group sign one of his sneakers.
