Report: Major WWE Star Not Scheduled For Clash At The Castle

The star was originally touted to work a match at the show

A major WWE star is not scheduled to be involved at Clash in the Castle, according to a recent report.

Writing in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer claims that while she was originally due to be part of the show, former WWE Women's Champion Ronda Rousey will not wrestle at the event in Cardiff on September 3.

Meltzer noted that the original plan was for her to be involved in a match on the show, which is why WWE put her back on television shortly after her storyline 'suspension'.

While Rousey is no longer scheduled to wrestle at Clash at the Castle, Meltzer did not know whether she would make an appearance in some other capacity.

He also noted that WWE officials are happy with the reactions Rousey has been getting since SummerSlam, and that a rematch with Liv Morgan is the inevitable destination.

Morgan will defend her SmackDown Women's Title against Shayna Baszler at Clash at the Castle.

The idea was that Ronda was supposed to be a heel long-term, but the current storyline of her defying authority while suspended has positioned her as a babyface.

WWE believes she is coming across as more of a 'star' of late and feel as though it may not make sense to turn her.
