Report: Matt Riddle Has Heat In WWE With Vince McMahon

Vince is definitely not a fan...

At the Royal Rumble, Matt Riddle entered his first-ever Men's Royal Rumble match. He was able to get in a few kicks against Drew McIntyre and Edge but was ultimately eliminated after 40 seconds by King Corbin.

Earlier in the day, The King Of Bros had a confrontation with Brock Lesnar backstage, in which the WWE Champion admonished Riddle for calling him out on social media. Ultimately, the confrontation itself did not result in Riddle being quickly eliminated, but Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the former UFC fighter was being punished for some reason.

Now, Meltzer has reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Riddle has heat backstage with Vince McMahon, who is unhappy with Riddle's posts and challenges on social media. WWE's CEO also views Riddle as an outsider in professional wrestling who lacks respect for the industry.

For the avoidance of doubt, Meltzer penned: "Regarding social media, the issues with Vince McMahon and Matt Riddle are due to his social media posts and challenges. Brock Lesnar doesn’t like him for it and Lesnar has tremendous pull with Vince. Vince also sees him as an outside guy and feels Riddle has no respect for the hierarchy of the business by challenging Goldberg and Lesnar."
