This past week's Smackdown was set to see the debut of Mia Yim on the blue brand, only for her appearance to reportedly be pulled because of time constraints.

More details surrounding the lack of Yim on Smackdown have now been revealed, with Fightful Select reporting that her absence was because of WWE presenting Friday's show as a Throwback Smackdown.

The idea to do a Throwback Smackdown came from FOX Sports, which WWE was more than happy to accommodate. However, the concept required WWE to include content on the show around some of Smackdown's biggest moments. This meant that time had to be cut elsewhere from the show, with Yim's debut being postponed.

It is also noted that more time was added to Roman Reigns' promo segment at the start of the show, but it has not been confirmed whether this was time previously allocated to Yim's debut.

The report goes on to say that Yim had been scheduled to begin a feud with Carmella on last Friday's episode. It remains to be seen if the program, or indeed Yim, makes any sort of appearance at this week's Smackdown.
